Doha Style interviewed one of the leading Sudanese sculptors and storytellers, Adlan Yousif @adlanyousif , during his exhibition “Transformations” in the French Institute in Sudan ( Institut français régional du Soudan)@ifsoudan
Adlan says about his exhibition “Transformations is my own personal view and experience during the 2018 Sudanese revolution. I tried to express moments of pain, misery and lost hope for a better tomorrow, My materials of choice to express this pain and anguish for these tired bodies exhausted by repression and persecution are scrap rusted metals. These used scrap metals are very strong and solid yet used in an expressive, lyrical way to show the core of the human spirit in the face of oppressors and shines a light in the midst of darkness. “Transformations” is dedicated to those exhausted spirits that stand tirelessly in the face of the storm.”
